The Company
La Roche & Co Asia Ltd, incorporated and based in Hong Kong, was established to spearhead the Asian expansion of La Roche & Co Banquiers, one of Switzerland’s leading private banks based in Basel. The Bank has been established in 1787 and today is still owned and managed by members of the founder family La Roche. It operates under the full license and supervision of the Swiss Federal Banking Commission.
La Roche & Co Asia Ltd was granted all necessary licenses, namely
Type 1 – Dealing in Securities
Type 4 – Advising on Securities
by the Securities and Futures Commission (“SFC”) of Hong Kong on 5th March 2008, and commenced business on 17th March 2008.
Client accounts will be opened with the bank in Switzerland whilst La Roche & Co Asia Ltd acts as investment advisor for the clients.
La Roche & Co Asia Ltd will also seek suitable investment opportunities in Asia, particularly those benefitting from the rapidly developing economies of China, India and other Asian countries, and offer these opportunities to the Bank’s clients, particularly European-based clients, who otherwise may have limited access to such opportunities in Asia.
